P. here, was taken to the hospital at St. Louis by D. F. E. Dillenbeck yesterday afternoon, for treatment. Mrs. Carroll accompanied him. Several months ago Mr. Carroll began to lose his mind. He grew worse and finally could not attend to his duties in railroad work. He was given a place in the yard but his brain trouble increaed and finally he had to give up work. His malady has grown steadily worse and during the past week or so he has been showing marked symptoms of violence. His children were sent to Burton several days ago and are being taken care of by Mrs. Carroll's relatives.
