The Walnut Valley Times August 26, 1904
A team ran away with George Marley, the 10 year old son of John Marley, out on 
Bird creek and battered him up badly. The boy was raking hay when the team 
became frightened. He was thrown in front of the rake and was rolled and 
dragged for a considerable distance before the team was stopped. Dr. Anna 
Perkins has the case, and while there are severe bruises, no bones are broken 
and apparently no internal injuries.
