Brentons Honored at Golden Wedding Dinner Here Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Brennton of Eureka were honored guests at a family celebration here on Sunday, March 22, in observance of the 50th Anniversary of their marriage. The honorees and their children and grandchildren enjoyed a family dinner at the Meranda restaurant. The couple are the parents of two daughters, Mrs. Clifton Thompson of El Dorado and Mrs. Clyde Cripps of Topeka. Sharing the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Cripps, a grandson, Robert Thompson and his wife, Nancy of Emporia, and three other grandsons, Donald Thompson of El Dorado and Charles Cripps and Randy Cripps of Topeka. Mrs. Cripps baked and decorated the handsome wedding cake which was a feature of the festive anniversary dinner. Mr. Brenton and the former Ethel Miller were marred on March 22, 1914, at the home of her parents, who lived near Reece. For more than 40 years, until his retirement in 1957 – Mr. Brenton was associated with the Tidewater Oil Company and spent the entire period in the vicinity of Reece. As further observance of the golden year anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Brenton were guests of honor at a surprise family dinner on Monday evening, March 23, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brenton of Eureka.
