Mrs. Mary Allen, 92, Dies, Rites Saturday 

Mrs. Mary effie Allen, 92, died suddenly this morning at her home, 626 North 
Topeka, where she had lived since 1936. 

Mrs. Allen was born Sept. 21, 1870 in Morocco, Ind., and came to Kansas with 
her parents in 1878, settling near Mulvane. She married William L. Allen, Feb. 
18, 1891, near Leon and lived in that vicinity until 1925. The couple then 
moved to the Batman lease west of El Dorado and resided there until 1936. Mr. 
Allen died in 1957.

Mrs. Allen was a member of the reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day 
Saints. 

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Clara prigmore, McPherson, Mrs. Edna 
Hildrein, 505 South Atchison, Mrs. Mary Akins, Hoisington, Mrs. Ruth Covert, 
Wichita, five sons, Leslie, Independence, Raymond, rural El Dorado, Byron of 
Leon, Elmer, Durango, Colo., and Clarence of Ellinwood; 32 grandchildren, 64 
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Kirby Funeral Home 
chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
