Died, at the home of her parents in El Dorado, Dec. 20, 1903, Dora Bourne. 

And this ends this struggle, this battle to retain this full blown flower for 
those who loved her here. The inevitable fate of the race is visited upon her 
and those to whome she was precious as life mourn the decree that separates her 
for a long time from them.

Miss Dora was the third daughter of Mr. and  Mrs. B. F. Bourne, born in Kansas 
City, September 8, 1879. Lovely in character, patient in suffering, fearless in 
the face of death – that was Dora Bourne.  She was a member of the Methodist 
Episcopal church and was sincere and active in the duties and responsibilities 
of it s obligations.

A sister, Maude and brother Harry preceded her to the Beyond. Left to grieve 
for her are her parents; Mrs. Wm. L. Hitchcock and Mrs. Clara Bright, her 
sisters and two brothers, Frank and Reuben Bourne. She died of consumption 
after a year of sickness.

In the hope of saving her life she was taken to Las Vegas, New Mexico, but the 
altitude was too great and after a few weeks she was brought home, only to die. 
This entire community was stirred alternately by hope and fear for her, and her 
family but her destiny was no longer to be shaped by human influences. Born to 
eternal life she awaits those whom she loved and who loved her here, in a fair, 
happy, painless, tearless country.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Methodist church.
