Charles K. Bracken, Life-Long Resident of El Dorado; Dies 

Charles Kenneth Bracken, a life-long resident of El Dorado died suddenly early 
this morning at Cleveland, Okla., Mr. Bracken who lived at 2220 West fourth, 
was 39 years old.

He and his father owned and operated the B&B Contracting company, a pipe line 
firm. 

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the El Dorado Elks Lodge. He 
was graduated from El Dorado High School. 

Mr. Bracken was born Aug. 20, 1924, at El Dorado. He and Mary Ruth Holladay 
were married here Aug. 28, 1949. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Shelley, Tracey and Cherridah, all of 
the home; one son Kenneth R. of the home; his father and step-mother, Mr. and 
Mrs. Charles E. bracken, 425 Oil Hill, his mother, Mrs. Irene Hatton, 
Jennings, Okla.; and one brother, Gary of Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Kirby Funeral Home 
chapel. Dr. Joe Riley Burns, pastor of the First Methodist church will 
officiate.

Interment will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park cemetery with military rites 
to be conducted at the graveside.

Services Held for Charles K. Bracken 

Funeral services for Charles Kenneth Bracken, 2220 West Fourth, who died 
Friday at Cleveland, Okla., were held Monday afternoon at the Kirby Funeral 
Home chapel.

Dr. Joe Riley Burns, pastor of the First Methodist church officiated. 

Graydon Waldorf sang “The Old Rugged Cross,” accompanied at the organ by Mrs. 
H. W. Bullerdiek. 

Serving as casket bearers were Jack Leonard, Jerry Leonhard, Merwyn Sontag, 
Ted Holderman, Robert V. Faith, and Jack A. McFann.

Honorary bearers included Archie O’Dell, C. John Cox, Jordan Minyard, Arnold 
Adams, Jim Wunderlick, Randolph N. Moore, Ray Brickley, George Todd, Jim 
Neighbors and Paul Wesley.

Students and teachers of Oil Hill School attended the services in a group. 

Interment was in Walnut Valley Memorial Park cemetery with military rites 
conducted at the graveside by members of the American Legion.

Flag folders were Bill Wrench and John F. Johnson. John Templin and Mike Gard 
were the bugler
