Not half the persons who went to the Methodist Church to pay homage to Mr. Braman could get into the structure. Hundreds stood with uncovered heads about the church yard. The services at the church were in charge of the Odd Fellows. Rev. W. E. Freeman, pastor of the Methodist Church at Leon, preached the sermon. At the close of the services at the church, the Edgar Dale Post of the American Legion took charge of the funeral. The ceremony was the most impressive that has marked a military funeral held in Butler County since the close of the war. D. G. Rixey, commander, was chaplain. C. A. Rennie was in charge of the firing squad; Otto Daniels and Will Revo were color bearers, while Dale Osmer and Russell Wolfe were color guards. Burial was in the Blankinship Cemetery.
