Berniece E. Brian, 92, of Georgetown in Wichita, and a former longtime El Dorado
resident, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 24, 2004, in the Hutchinson Hospital.
Graveside services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Cremation will
precede the services.

She was born Jan. 2, 1912, at Manhattan, the daughter of Carl Fred and Sarah
Jane Pepperell Brumm. She grew up in Manhattan and attended school there and
graduated from Kansas State College. She made her home in Hutchinson for the
past few years. She was an assistant with the Kansas State Department of
Inspection and Registration for three years.

On May 1, 1936, she married Dr. R.M. Brian in Manhattan. He preceded her in
death on April 18, 1992. She made her home in El Dorado for 52 years. She was a
member of First Presbyterian Church; charter member of El Dorado Logopedic
Auxiliary serving as president for two years; a past president of Susan B. Allen
Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; a volunteer staff aide with the American Red Cross
for 25 years; a member of the Butler and Greenwood Medical Society Auxiliary; a
member of American Medical Society Auxiliary; a member of Chapter DS Sisterhood;
and a member of the music club and also served on the library board.

Survivors include: son, Dr. William J. Brian of Hilton Head, S.C.; four
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert M. Jr.

Memorials in her memory are for Bradford Memorial Library Fund or the Salvation
Army.
