Services will be held at the Methodist Church there at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Samuel Paulding officiating. Mr. Bryant had resided in Kansas City for the past five years and had lived in Butler County for a number of years previous to 1914. He came to this county in 1892 and was well known in the community. The former Leon man was born on June 24, 1868, in McDonough County, Ill., and was married in 1889. Mrs. Bryant, however, died in 1913. According to reports from Kasnas City, Mr. Bryant had just stepped into a street in Kansas City, when he was struck down by a passing automobile. He lived but 12 hours after the accident. Surviving are a son, Dewey Bryant of Wichita; one daughter, Mrs. L. K. Seglem, of Rosalia, two sisters, Mrs. James Mendenhall, of Astoria, Ill., and Mrs. Frances Coalbeck of Oregon; and a brother, James Bryant of Mt. Sterling, Ill. Two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Bryant was a member of the Center Methodist Church of Spring Township and a former member of the Modern Woodmen of America. The body will be brought here this eveing or tomorrow morning by the Byrd Funeral Home.
