Alvin J. Donaldson died at Pond Creek, Oklahoma, Saturday evening, August 16. Several weeks ago while assisting workmen in erecting a church he fell and received a hard blow on his right side. An abscess formed and it was necessary that he be operated upon. The ordeal was too great and he did not survive it. A. J. Donaldson was born in Jefferson county, April 19, 1858. He moved to Chelsea with his parents when he was a baby. He was converted when only a boy and subsequently became a Free Methodist Preacher. He married Kitty Olmstead at Chelsea in 1882. He has two brothers in Central America, Ed and Harry Donaldson. His sisters, Florence Reed and Mrs. Wolverton, live at Holton. He was a brother of George Donaldson of Marion. He was brought to El Dorado via Wichita yesterday afternoon. The funeral party left El Dorado at noon today and he was taken to Chelsea for burial.
