MRS. DORAN PASSES AWAY

Mary Jane McCord was born near Oskaloosa, Iowa, February 4, 1850, and died at 
her home four miles northwest of Douglass, June 8, 1933, aged 83 years, five 
months and four days.

She was married to J. W. Doran in Oskaloosa, Iowa, November 6, 1879.

They came to Kansas in 1883 and lived in Douglass for a short time and then 
moved to the farm, where she lived for 50 years.

Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Doran, three of whom are dead and four 
living.

Those who have passed away are Gayle, Mrs. Mayme Lichlyter and William.

Those living are Mrs. Myrtle Bidwell of Stockton, California; Mrs. C. J. Cox of 
Wichita, Carl at home and Ben of Douglass.

She also leaves to mourn her departure 10 grandchildren, six great-
grandchildren and a large circle of friends and acquaintances.

Sister Doran was crippled by disease and confined to her room for many years. 
But she was patient and cheerful in her affliction and lived on beyond the 
allotted time of life.

God has released her from pain and infirmity and taken her to enjoy a Blessed 
Rest which shall never end.

Funeral services were held at the Friends church near Rose Hill, Monday 
afternoon by Rev. George Watts, assisted by the Rev. Andrew Stuart, pastor of 
the Friends church. Singers from the Friends church furnished very appropriate 
music. Burial was in the cemetery near the church.
