Funeral services were held at the family residence this afternoon. This is the first death in a family of 10 children, that has been reared at Douglass and has become one of the prominent families of Southern Kansas. The parents came to this section in 1873 and the father, Andy Hartenbower and his four boys engaged extensively in farming for many years. The deceased was with the Santa Fe at Oklahoma City for 15 years. He is survived by his widow, a son, his mother and nine brothers and sisters. The latter are: W. A. hartenbower, John Hartenbower, Mrs. Edith Ward, Mrs. Bird Stetson and Ann Hartenbower of Douglass, Jerry Hartenbower, Ellinwood; Mrs. Frank Anderson, El Dorado, Mrs. LaPorte and Mrs. Frank Best, of Oklahoma.
