Died, March 25, 1904 Mrs. Margaret Hopkins was born in Hamilton county, Ohio and was the mother of ten children, six of whom survive her – John, Mike, George and Will; Mrs. Adda Townsend and Mrs. B. A. Parsons. She, with her husband, Robert Hopkins were among the earliest of the Clifford pioneers but he passed away 19 years before his wife, who has for many years made her home with her daughter, Mrs. B. H. Parsons. Although in feeble health for many years she died quite suddenly; her last illness lasting but a few hours. The funeral services were conducted on March 28 by Rev. De Bolt at the Christian church in the presence of a large assemblage of friends who had met to pay their last respects to a good wife, mother and neighbor. The coffin was covered with exquisite floral offerings. The music by Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Austin and Mrs. Sam’l Austin was exceptionally good and appropriate to the occasion.
