W. Piper, died at her home near Douglass yesterday, following an illness of one week. Mrs. Piper came from Ohio to Butler County in 1880, residing there continuously for more than half a century. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. H. V. Scott of Rose Hill; a son, Olave Piper, at home and two grandchildren, Mrs. V. E. Bottom and Wayne Scott, both of Wichita. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Douglass Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in West Cemetery, El Dorado.
