He was about 66 years of age and for some three weeks has been confined to his home. Only a few days ago his comrades and their wives went to his home and encouraged him to cling to life and return to health. Mr. Rodgers leaves to mourn him a wife three sons and a daughter, Allen, Grant and Henry Rodgers, and Mrs. Belle Rodgers-Hunter, wife of Phil Hunter of Bodare. Mr. Rogers was a member of w. H. L. Wallace Post, G.A.R., in which he served in several official positions. He volunteered April 14, 1862 in Co. E., 3rd Mo., Infantry; was discharged Dec. 8, 1865 from Co. H. 11th Mo. Infantry. He joined Wallace Post G.A.R. March 27, 1886.
