She had been a resident of El Dorado for thirty-five years. Mrs. Sheen was born February 10, 1860 near Waynesburg, Pa., and was married to John Joseph Sheen at Rosalia in 1883. He died in the spring of 1930. Mrs. Sheen first came to Butler County in 1882 from Pennsylvania and settled northeast of town on the site that is now Lake El Dorado in 1900 and had lived here since. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Fred Fry of Newton, Iowa; three sons, Richard of El Dorado, Jospeh of Emporia and John of Carterville, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. John Tooley of Melrose, Iowa; two brothers, George and Amos, both of Macon, Mo., and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Byrd Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 Rev. J. W. Abel, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church officiated. Miss Phyullis Miller and Miss Sarah Alice Young sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "No Night There," and "Saved by Grace>" Pallbearers were A. T. Gude, W. H. Baltzell, Charles L. Skinner and J. H. Rodenkirch of El Dorado and J. H. Shottler and T. A. Lewis of Emporia. Interment was made in West Cemetery.
