Smith, aged 42 years, a former resident of El Dorado and Augusta, had died last Monday in Ventura, Calif., after an illness of some time. The funeral services were held on Wednesday at Ventura. Howard Smith was well known in El Dorado and Augusta, where he had lived most of his life. He left here about three years ago for the coast an dhe had lived there since. In addition to his brother, George, Howard is survived by his widow, three children and a sister, all of whom live in California, and his mother and a brother, Robert, who reside in El Dorado.
