ALTA ROSE SMITH IS DEAD Mrs. Alta Rose Smith, 1223 West Second Avenue, died here at 10 o’clock last night following an illness of two weeks. She was 33 years old and had resided in El Dorado since 1908. She was well known here and her death is mourned by scores. Mrs. Smith was born on April 24, 1900, and was married to Claude Smith on January 25, 1917. She is survived by her husband and three children, Raymond Leroy, 13, Cecil Henry, 11 and Claude, Jr. 10. Funeral arrangements are being postponed pending word from relatives. The Adams Funeral Home is in charge. The El Dorado Times Thursday, September 21, 1933 RITES FOR WOMAN ARE HELD TODAY Funeral services for Mrs. Alta Rose Smith, who died here Monday, were held at the Christian Church, this morning with Rev. Fred W. Condit officiating. Interment was made in West Cemetery. Mrs. Harry Doornbos and Joe T. Lock sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and “God Will Take Care of You,” accompanied by Miss Opal Berry. Pallbearers were: Mrs. Rachael Beeler, Mrs. Letha Whitlock, Mrs. Ray Newson, Mrs. John Knight, Mrs. Georgianna Sherman and Mrs. Charles Buhler. The Adams Funeral Home was in charge.
