He lived at 1014 South Atchison. Mr. Spunaugle was born on August 23, 1892 in Elk County and had been a resident of El Dorado for the past 18 years. He spent all of his life in Kansas. He was married in 1914 to May Johnson at Iola but she died in 1941. Surviving are two sons, Dan. R., of Wichita and C. F. Spunaugle, El Dorado, two daughters, Mrs. Deloris Myers and Mrs. Dorothy Williamson, both of El Dorado; three step-sons C. A. Stokes, Wichita, Jim Stokes, Ovid, Colo., and Bill Stokes, Haven; and a brother, Peg Spunaugle, Howard. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Byrd Funeral Home with Rev. LeRoy F. Arend, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be made in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. L. F. Arend, of the Methodist Church in charge. Burial was in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Pallbearers were L. J. Bradley, Earl Faunce, Bert Luce and Porter Stokes, all of El Dorado and John Roberts and Don Roberts both of Wichita. Mrs. Roy Morris, playing her own accompaniment, sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross."
