The funeral was held yesterday afternoon, Sunday and his body was laid to rest in the Kechi cemetery. Mr. Stanhope was three times married; his first wife died some five or six years ago, he was divorced from his second two years ago. His last wedding was about Christmas time 1902. Mr. Stanton was a good man and citizen and his demise is regretted by many who have known him since pioneer days, since 1870. Additional Comments: This was typed the way it appeared in the Walnut Valley Times. You'll see that the name is Stanton, however in one sentence he was called Stanhope.
