R. Thomas announces the death of his mother, Mrs. Sarah A. Thomas, June 6, in Memphis. She passed away very suddenly of heart failure. She had been afflicted with heart trouble for many years and her general nervous condition threatened her continually for many years. Mrs. Thomas was among the earliest comers to Butler County. Her husband, the late Wm. H. Thomas, died some four years ago. The home was broken up. Mrs. Thomas was a woman of culture and refinement, had a fine literary taste and was author of a volume of poems. She was never quite happy, the rough ways of pioneering grated on her harshly. She was thoroughly devoted to her children and they have been her constant help and comfort. Early settlers here especially will learn of her death with regret.
