Tuttle died at four o'clock Monday morning at the family residence, five miles west of Burns. The maiden name of the deceased was Martha Alice McClarnon. She was born in Hancock county, Indiana, April 3, 1858 and at the time of her death, May 26th, 1902 was 44 years, 1 month and 26 days of age. The marriage to R. W. Tuttle took place July 2nd 1886, and of the seven children who came of this union little Bessie preceded her mother to the spirit world, six remaining to share the loneliness of her absence with their bereaved father. In 1875 before leaving her native state, Sister Tuttle yielded her heart to her Divine Master and was a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal church. During her long affliction she found great comfort in Christ and proved sustaining help of divine grace. As the end drew near her prayer was indeed a sweet comfort to her soul. A very large concourse of people gathered at the Christian church in Clifford township for the burial services Tuesday afternoon. Her pastor, Rev. W. M. Runyan conducted the funeral service using Psalms 115:15, as the comforting assurance of God's word. Sister Tuttle was a noble woman but, more than in all else did she seem to excel as a patient loving, faithful mother to her children. Profound and genuine sympathy is felt by a wide circle of friends and neighbors for the bereaved husband and children. The mother, Mrs. McClarnon and brother, Walter McClarnon, of Creighton, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bluford of El Dorado and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Tuttle of Wichita, were present for the burial.- Burns Citizen.
