VARBLE DIES LAST EVENING John G. Varble, aged 60 years, died at 8 o’clock last evening at St. Luke’s Hospital, after an illness of six months’ duration. Mr. Varble was admitted in the hospital on February 22. His home here was at 204 North Gordy Street. Mr. Varble had been a resident of El Dorado for the past 12 years, having come here from Springfield, Mo. He followed the barbering profession, and had been employed here at Crockett’s Barber shop on West First Avenue. He was well known in El Dorado and his many friends sincerely regret his death. Mr. Varble was born at Louisville, Ky., on May 24, 1870. While still a youth, he left Louisville and went to Springfield, Mo., where he lived until coming to El Dorado 12 years ago. His marriage to Miss Anna Belle Minor took place at Springfield in 1892. Mrs. Varble died on March 12, 1917. Two sons and two daughters survive. They are: Mrs. Estell Peterson, Iola; George W. Varble, El Dorado, Harry G. Varble, El Dorado and Mrs. Lillie Pearl Detter, El Dorado. One daughter, Hazel died at the age of four years. The funeral services will be held at the Byrd Funeral Home at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon, with the Rev. A. R. Neese, pastor of the Nazarene Church in charge. Burial will be in the West Cemetery.
