Funeral services at the Methodist church in Sedan March 16th conducted by the Rev. H. C. Benton. Interment in Greenwood cemetery; Baird Funeral Home in charge. Deceased was born 25 Apr 1868 in Chase County, MO. Moved to KS at the age of 12. Married Julia Eliza Wells, who survives, 7 Jan 1891. Leaves one daughter, Mabel Murray, of Sedan; two sons, Oliver Brown of Copan, OK and Loren G. Brown of Seattle, WA; three brothers, Geo. L. Brown, Sedan, Killion Brown of Peru, and Ward Brown of Monett; five sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Burris of Sedan, Mrs. Mary Weible of Nampa, ID, Mrs. Emma Lavely of Trenton, MO, Mrs. Eva Harding of Skiatook, OK, Mrs. Edna Woolworth of Kansas City, KS; eight grandchildren. Mr. Brown had been a resident of Chautauqua county for 39 years; a member of the Methodist church at Arrington, KS. Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ora Woolworth and Carl Woolworth of Kansas City, KS, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Patterson, Mrs. Clarence Hug and daughter Wanda Lea of Topeka, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Weible, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Weible and baby of Coffeyville, Mrs. Shirley Porter of Bartlesville, OK.
