Early in the evening he fell and struck the back of his head on the edge of the concrete pavement and died from the effects of the fall about 2 o'clock Sunday morning. His skull was fractured quite badly. James Parker was born in England March 15, 1850 and died in Scammon, Kansas November 11, 1912, aged 62 years 7 months and 26 days. He came to America with his parents at the age of 2 years and for the last 30 years has lived in this city. The funeral was held in the Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Borgeson, and the remains were taken to the Cherokee cemetery for internment. The Miner joins the entire community in extending to Mrs. Parker and her children their heartfelt sympathy in their dark hour of sorrow.
