His son Abraham was one of 11 children born in Leesburg Twp., Union Co., OH. He and four brothers fought in the Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Abraham enlisted a total of three times. He was wounded and captured and sent to Andersonville Prison plus one other prison prior to release. He married Cynthia Grubb in OH and later moved to IL and then on to Coffey Co., KS. Abraham and Cynthia had a son born in OH, a daughter born in IL and a second son born in KS. Abraham is buried in an 'Old Soldiers' section of the cemetary in Burlington and a nice headstone was placed on his burial site. Cynthia continued to live there long after his death.
