Kathryn Hammond, 75, a former resident of Lander, Wyo., died Monday, Oct. 14, 
2002, at Chapman Valley Manor in Chapman.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Londeen Funeral Chapel, Chapman.

Kathryn Elaine Hammond, 75, a former resident of Riverton, Wyo., died Monday, 
Oct. 14, 2002, at Chapman Valley Manor, Chapman.

She was born April 13, 1927, in Leeds, N.D., the daughter of Edwin Alexander 
and Louise Constance (Peterson) Quam. She attended grade school and high school 
in Oakes, N.D. She graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. in 1949 
with degrees in English and music. In 1955, she completed a master of arts 
degree in English at C.S.C.E. in Greeley, Colo. She completed graduate studies 
at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colo., and at the University of 
Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at the Londeen 
Funeral Chapel, Chapman, with Pastor David Beese officiating.

A private family burial will be in Sheyenne Lutheran Cemetery, Pekin, N.D.
