William James Burgess.
William James BURGESS died Sunday afternoon at the home of his son, Ervin O.
Burgess, 1315 Haskell avenue. He was 79 years old. 
Funeral services will be held from the Rumsey funeral home at 2 o'clock Thursday
afternoon. Rev. Paul B. LAWSON will conduct the services. Burial will be the
Eudora cemetery.
He is survived by four sons, Ervin O. Burgess and Edwin T. Burgess of Lawrence,
Elmer A. Burgess of Spokane, Wash., and Ernest R. Burgess of Picayne, Miss.; 3
daughters, Mrs. Ralpyh CLAAR of Oberlin, Kan., Mrs. A.L. HALE of Mankato, Kan.,
and Mrs. C.E. ELEY of Pascagoula, Miss.; ten grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ed EDMONDSON of Kansas City, Kan., Mrs.
Sarah HILL of Gardner, Miss Anna FINLEY of Gardner and Mrs. Rhoda BLACK of Los
Angeles, Calif.; and one brother, Charles FINLEY, of Gardner.
