John Ellsworth BURGNER, son of Abraham Burgner and Nancy Pitts Burgner, was born April 16, 1866, at Salum, Ill., and died July 1, at his home, 1001 Pennsylvania. When a small boy he moved to Southern Kansas where he grew to manhood. He was married to Augusta ENO at Elk City, August 10, 1895. To this union was born three children, two girls and one boy, Ida Mae McLEAN of the home, Lottie Marie STEVENS of Lawrence, and Harry Ellsworth, who died in infancy. His wife died January 3, 1920. His only sister, Mrs. Rosa POWELL, died 11 years ago. Those surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ida McCLEAN and Mrs. Lottie STEVENS; five grandchildren, Harry Marshall, Frances Miller, Jack McLean, Billy Stevens, and Betty Stevens; three great-grandchildren, Doris Jean MILLER, Harlen Lee MILLER, and Harry Edward MARSHALL. Funeral services were held Saturday July 3, at 10 o'clock at Funk's chapel in Lawrence, Kan. Rev. Alfred BEIL officiated. Burial was in Colyer cemetery.
