James H. Dodderidge Dies in Action in Sicily. Lieut. James H. DODDERIDGE, 22, was killed in action on July 16 during the Sicilian campaign, according to a message from the war department received yesterday afternoon by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth C. Dodderidge, 620 Indiana street. Lieutenant Dodderidge was a line officer in the infantry. He was an R.O.T.C. student in the University and upon graduation in the spring of 1942 he went into active duty on July 13 and was sent to Fort Benning, Ga., for officer training. Prior to moving to Lawrence with his parents he was a student at Southwest high school in Kansas City.
