Maggie GEE, widow of Frank GEE, died last evening at her home, 941 Vermont street. Mr. Gee died in 1938. Born on a farm in Page county, Ia., about four miles south of Clarinda, July 6, 1866, as Maggie STOOPS, she grew to womanhood there and married Frank Gee, November 22, 1882. They came to Lawrence in the early part of 1902. For the past 40 years she had lived at 941 Vermont street, where she celebrated her silver and golden wedding anniversaries and where a yard full of plants and flowers gave pleasure to her and her friends. She had been a member of the First Methodist church since coming here and participated in its activities until ill health kept her at home. She is survived by a son, Claude Earl Gee of Pittsburgh, Pa.; by two sisters, Mrs. James McCALLA and Mrs. H.E. McKEOWN, and a brother, William STOOPS, all of Clarinda. Services will be held Friday morning, at 10 o'clock, at the Funk Mortuary, conducted by Rev. O.E. ALLISON. Burial will be at the Covenanter church cemetery, near Clarinda. Claude Gee, who arrived Tuesday night from Pittsburgh, will accompany the body to Iowa. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/douglas/obits/g/gee414gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
