James B. Griffith.
Mrs. J.R. DODSON, 913 Tennessee street, received word of the death of her
father, James B. GRIFFITH, in Detroit, Mich. last night. Mrs. Dodson wa in
Detroit several weeks taking care of her father returning to Lawrence only two
weeks ago. Mr. Griffith was weell known in Detroit and the Pittsburgh, Pa.,
chapters of the Red Cross, having knit more than 100 sweaters and pairs of socks
for boys in service. Mr. Griffith, who was 81 years, has visited in Lawrence and
has several friends here. He is survived by six children, 11 grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Griffith died seven years ago.
