Smith. Alma Baker HUTCHINSON was the daughter of Iscca Newton and Lucinda Hutchinson. She was born in Topeka, Kan., March 8, 1862, and departed this life at her home at 636 North 5th street, Lawrence, Kan., at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 15 days. She was one of fifteen brothers and sisters, and seven half brothers and sisters, making a family of 22 children in all. There were two sets of twins of which she was one. She was united in marriage to Edwin WILSON, April 29, 1883, at the age of 21 years. To this union 3 daughters were born, Mrs. Della PRATT, Escondido, Calif., Mrs. Mable WILSON, and Mrs. Kathleen HUME. Her husband and two daughters, Mable and Kathleen, have preceded her in death. On July 10, 1894, she was united in marriage to John Anton DENEWILER of Douglas county, Kan. To this union one son and four daughters were born; Harry Denewiler, Mrs. Eula UNGER, Mrs. Bessie MARTIN, and Mrs. Edith FLORO, all of Lawrence and one daughter died in infancy. And of the home, one step-daughter, Mrs. Amelia STEELE, of Lawrence, one stepson, Frank Denewiler, of Blythe, Calif. and two foster stepsons, Will and Felix TUCKLE of Lawrence. She lived for thirty years on a farm west of Lawrence and after the death of her husband she moved to her home in Lawrence at 516 Indiana street, where she lived for a number of years. On January 7, 1936, she was united in marriage to William H. SMITH of 636 North 5th street, Lawrence, Kan., where she spent the remainder of her life. Her husband preceded her in death. She was an active member of the Church of Christ for 36 years, and her home was open to everyone. She was laid to rest in the family lot in the Stull cemetery. She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Effie ROW of San Diego, Calif., two brothers, Joe Hutchinson of Quenemo, Kan., and Alva Hutchinson, of Hemet, Calif., her twin brother, one son, Harry Denewiler and four daughters, Mrs. Della PRATT of Escondido, Calif., Mrs. Eula UNGNER, Mrs. Bessie MARTIN, and Mrs. Edith FLORO, all of Lawrence, one step-daughter, Mrs. Amelia Steele, of Lawrence, and one step-son, Frank Denewiler of Blythe, Calif., and 2 foster step-sons, Will and Felix Tuckle of Lawrence, twenty-six grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
