Kennedy Dies. Long Time Resident of County Reached Age of 90. Mrs. Eugene Marshall KENNEDY, died Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dwight PRENTICE, 1645 Kentucky street, at the age of 90 years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock, at Plymouth Congregational church, with the Rev. Harold G. BARR officiating. Mrs. Kennedy who was Mary Eva FOX, daughter of Thomas Fox and Margaret Day Fox, was born December 29, 1852, at Albion, Mich. When she was a young girl her parents came to Kansas, settling in Douglas county. In 1874 she married Eugene Marshall Kennedy, son of Capt. W.B. Kennedy, one of the early settlers of Kennedy Valley. Her husband died 20 years ago. One son, Orin O. Kennedy and two daughters, Mrs. Thomas C. JONES and Mrs. Dwight Prentice, live in Lawrence. Mrs. Kennedy also leaves one son, Joe L. Kennedy of Modesto, Calif., two other daughters, Mrs. Charles FOWLER of Berkeley, Calif., and Mrs. James SELLERS of Lincoln, Neb., and one brother, Lewellyn L. Fox of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. Deceased are Mrs. Everette SPRINGER whose home was at Siloam Springs, Ark., and X. Jay Kennedy, who was county commissioner in Douglas county for many years. Others survivors include 14 grandchildren. Of the six grandsons, three are serving in the army, navy and marines. A granddaughter's husband is also serving in the navy.
