Grant R. Smith.
Grant R. SMITH, 46, son of Constable George S. Smith, Lawrence died Thursday 
morning in the Veterans' hospital, Albuquerque, N.M., following an illness of 
five months.
Smith had served as Shawnee county surveyor for the past seven years. A native 
of Sumerfield, Kan., he served in the Marine Corps during the first world war.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at Grace Cathedral in Topeka. Burial 
was in Memorial Park cemetery there. 
Smith is survived by his wife, and one sister, Mrs. H.E. RAGLE, Balboa Island, 
Calif.
