A. Murphy of Longton has been nominated by the Republicans for the office of Sheriff of Elk County. Mr. Murphy is forty-six years of age and that period of time marks the length of time his home has been in Elk county. Mr. Murphy has served as County commissioner and has served the county well. He has been city marshall of Longton and has served well in that capacity. He has the qualities that are needed in the sheriff's office. Whatever comes to him to do he will do with all his might. Mr. Murphy has the support and good will of the people of his community and if elected Sheriff will give his best efforts to the county. He asks the earnest consideration of the voters at the ppolls and will gratefully appraciate all votes cast in his favor.
