J. Holcomb Electa (Mann) Holcomb was born at Iron Hill, Jackson county, Iowa, July 3, 1859 and departed this life on October 30, 1922, at Independence, Kansas. She was united in marriage to T. J. Holcomb at Elk Falls, Kansas, September 23, 1880. To this union five children were born, four of whom are now living. Mrs. Holcomb united with the M. E. church at Moline, Kansas in 1885 and later her membership was transferred to the Grace M. E. church at Independence. During her long illness which was about twelve years, she has been a patient and cheerful sufferer. Mrs. Holcomb is survived by her husband, four children, Victor M. Holcomb of Mason City, Iowa; Creta H. Denton of Safford, Arizona; T. J. Holcomb Jr. of Independence; Geo. H. Holcomb of Chattanooga, Oklahoma: five brothers, Lezar, Geo W., and Horace Mann of Moline, Manly Mann of San Diego, California, Edwin Mann of Independence and one sister, Mrs. Jane Michaelson of Baldwin, and many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Holcomb's body was brought to Moline, Wednesday afternoon for burial in the Moline cemetery. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here Thursday morning at 10:30, conducted by Rev.
