Below we publish a letter we receiv- (sic) this morning. EDITOR SENTINEL:--I wish to correct a statement contained in the "Star," pertaining to the death of my daughter. I and my wife left home on Monday, for Hays. We had to stay in Ellis that night. Mr. ENDSLY was to come in that night but did not come in till morning, on account of the children coaxing him to stay. On his arrival I asked him if all were well and he said they were. If find from my children that Laura had a fit on Monday--about three hours after I left--and fell in the yard On Tuesday she was not feeling well. Wednesday she got the breakfast, was taken with a fainting spell, went to her room, laid down on the bed and died. The tea was given to her by her sister, and she drank none of it. I believe she died of the heart disease. Respectfully, C. C. COX. Source: Hays Sentinel, Hays City, Ellis County, Kansas; Wednesday, May 3, 1876; Volume 3, No. 10, page 3 column 3.
