She was married to Israel Grenell in the early eighties and came to Kansas in Ellis county as one of the pioneers, though afflicted with a trouble that was peculiary distressing Grandma Grenell was patient and true to the way of light as taught in the gospel and cared for little save to be sure that her heart was right with God. The funeral services were held at the family home in Hays, Tuesday afternoon. The home was crowded with friends and neighbors many of them being the old settlers of Ellis county. The pastor Rev. Smith chose for a text the words of Paul in the letter to the Phillipians, 11 Timothy, Chapter 1 and verse 12, I know whom I have believed and am presuaded that he is able to keep. Burial was in the Hays cemetry by the side of the husband who died five years ago, and of these old settlers it can be said, they're gathering homeward from every land; one by one, one by one.
