Hays City Sentinel, Hays City, Kansas; May 2, 1879

The painful news reaches us that a man named PATTERSON, living near Dry Walnut, 
near the east line of this county, and his two sons, one a boy of thirteen, and 
the other fifteen years of age, were killed by lightning during the storm of 
Sunday evening, the 13th instant.--Rush Blade
