Married: on 22 Jan 1866, Mr. Levi DEERSHIM married Miss Mary HOWARD, both of Douglas Co. Ks. Messr. COE and PECKPECKER have purchased a stone building on the river bank. G.O. McKUNE and A.J. KNIGHT hope to make enough brick this season to supply demand. Sheriff sale: Christopher EISLE, Adm. of the estate of Gotleib ANDERS, deceased and Henry GROUPNER. ====================== Feb. 8, 1866 - Thursday Messes STRUDVAL and CARSE, who came out from Tazwell Co. Illinois on a visit to our old citizen, Mr. MILLARED, have rented a building on 2nd St., west side and will open a butcher's shop. Sheriff JENNESS has sold his Hotel and farm at Mt. Vernon to Mr. BOWKER from Jersey Co. Illinois. The Sheriff will now erect a dwelling in town. B.W. LOTHROP Esq. of Boston is in town, a guest of Mr. KALLOCH. Mr. M.S. WILLIAMS has sold his half interest in the Livery Stable to Ex-Sheriff ROBBINS. Rev. Mr. KENNED, a Wesleyan Methodist of central Illinois will reside here. Messr. HEINTZLEMAN and SCHNERT of Eudora, Douglas Co. have bought a section of land 3 miles south of College Farm. Mr. SMITH has opened a Barber Shop on Main St. Work has started on the jail under the supervision of Mr. Edward SMITH. Mr. Allen HAMS has a Nursery in Ottawa. He has resided in Kansas 10 years. J.T. HAUSKINS of Fidelity, Illinois has recently purchased land in this vicinity. Died: Calvin RANDOLL died at his residence in Franklin Twp. on 25 Jan 1866, aged 61 years. John GUNNISAN, estate Adm. of John H. FRENCH, deceased, will sell his real estate for debts. Sheriff sale - Samuel A. RIGGS vs. Eliza HATCH and Jacob WEEDMAN. ================ Feb. 15, 1866 - Thursday Col. D.W. HOUSTON represents this district, comprising of Anderson and Franklin Co. in the State Senate. The two Representatives from Franklin Co. are Messrs. PENNOCK and RHEES. Mr. James DAVIS, one of the oldest settlers of Cole Co. Illinois will soon arrive here to live. ============== Feb. 22, 1866 - Thursday Mr. F. ERDMANN has sold his brick home. Mr. S.B. ENDERTON has begun building a stone dwelling on Hickory St. between 2nd & 3rd. - Mr. LAMB is putting up a dwelling just south of Mr. ENDERTON's place. Mr. PARKS, lately from New York has completed a house on Locust St. Mr. Silas PIERSOLL, a brother-in-law of Capt. ANDERSON, lately of Ohio is erecting another bakery on Main St. Married: Wednesday, 14 Feb 1866, at the residence of the bride's father by A. HOLADAY Esq., Mr. William A.
