Home Journal Newspaper - Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. Sep. 4, 1867 - Railroad meeting speakers are: Messrs. WELSH, MASON, BOWLES, PENNOCK, Col. JONES, Prof. KELSEY, RICHMOND, KALLOCH, NUGENT. The talks will be Sep 5-14, 1867. Married: Mr. Edward FULLER of New York and Miss Lena ELDER of Ottawa were married at the bride father's residence, Major P.P. ELDER, last Monday. The father of the groom is Perry FULLER of New York. Mr. B.R. HAINES of Franklin Co. Maine is in Ottawa to finish the bridge. Miss Bessie BISBEE of Burlington is sick this week. Rev. S.E. MacBURNEY will speak about Female Suffrage this evening at Pickrell Hall. A Baseball Club is being organized Friday evening at 7 p.m. .............................. Sep. 12, 1867 - A sad and almost fatal accident happened in Ottawa yesterday. High scaffolding on Mrs. CRIPPS new building gave way and Capt. COBB and Mr. MARTIN fell to the ground.
