Feb 21, 1867 - Thurs. Major PALMER, late of U.S. Army has moved here from new Orleans. His wife is an accomplished pianist. Mr. John WORLEY and Mr. Jesse BELL, old and worthy citizens of Franklin Co., having resided several years near Peoria, will soon build in town (Ottawa). Mr. Stephen L. LATIMER of Montgomery Co. Illinois yesterday purchased a prairie farm and will also build in town. James DAVIS is enclosing 400 acres of land on Mud Creek. The Order of F & AM, Ottawa Chapter R.A.M. has recently organized. John C. RICHMOND, High Priest; J.I. PARAMORE, King; and G.A. VIGUS, Scribe. James G. DURHAM and Micheal DAILY will learn of something to their advantage by contacting G.S. John JONES, a non-resident of the State of Kansas. James CREW filed his petition Jan. 9, 1867 against John JONES for note of $385.00 plus interest of 6 percent from Mar. 9, 1866. Orrin STRONG vs. Jesse BELL and Wilson GASKINS. Wilson GASKINS, administrator of the estate of John PRIEST, deceased. Orrin STRONG filed petition Feb. 7, 1867 for $200.00. Jonathan McNUTT vs. John W. McBAY and Allen McBAY. John W. McBAY and Allen McBAY, non-residents of the State of Kansas. Jonathan McNUTT filed petition Feb. 18, 1867. On Mar. 8, 1866 in Franklin Co. KS, John W. McBAY executed a certain mortgage to Allen McBAY, upon the south half of NEq and the SEq of the NEq of Section 8, Twp. 18, Range 21. Jonathan McNUTT says that the execution of the mortgage by John W. McBAY to Allen McBAY was fraudulent and without consideration for the purpose and effect to defraud Jonathan McNUTT. Jonathan McNUTT wants said lands to be sold and proceeds to Jonathan McNUTT.
