The Hill City Times, Graham County, Thursday, May 21, 1931
Mrs. F.A. STEVENS announces the marriage of her daughter, Dorothy to Mr. Lyle
SMITH, of Abilene, Kansas. The wedding took place Sunday morning at 9:30 at the
Stevens home in Hill City, Rev. C.D. Gambriell of the Community church read the
ceremony.
The bride is a graduate of Hill City high school, and was an operator in the
Central Kansas Telephone Company office here for several years following her
graduation. She has been employed in the United Companies general office in
Abilene the past year.
The groom is the son of J. Smith of McPherson, Kansas, and is employed in the
general offices of the United Companies.
A series of parties and showers were given in honor of Miss Stevens in Abilene
before she came here to spend two weeks with her mother before the wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. SMITH left Sunday afternoon for Colorado. They will be at home in
Abilene after May 25.
