Settled in Dallas County, Mo. where he grew up to manhood. Joined the union army in May 1861 and was discharged in November 1864. Profession religion in 1867 and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church. He was married December 12th, 1862 to Elizabeth Cathrine JENKINS who is still living. There were born to this union four sons and three daughters. James of Shattuck, Ok., Mary CROXTON of Cherokee, Okla., Tom, John and Henry of Byron and Sarah and Silva still at home of which were all present at the funeral. They moved to Kansas in 1879 thence to Byron, Okla. in 1908 after moving to Bryon, there being no Presbyterian church in that town he united with the M.E. church and was always a faithful and constant member, attending chruch and Sabbath school as long as he was able. After losing his eye sight about six years since he was still of a jovial disposition and enjoyed life never murerming or complaining at his afflictions. He enjoyed the best of health until the first of the present year, when he was afflicted with heart trouble, which terminated in his death which occured Wednesday evening at seven thirty June 25th. Head he lived until August 16, he would have been 80 years of age. Funeral services were held at the home, Thursday and the body was taken to Harper, Kansas where he was buried bside his brother. Mr. Clark was alway an honest upright man. He was judge at Harper county, Kansas and Alfalfa County, Okla., for 18 years. He was nominated as a member of the State Legislature, but refused to serve on account of his eyesight. He did not fear death and no more fitting tribute could be paid him than the words of his own chosen text. I have fought a fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Funeral services were conducted by Rev.
