Caroline Miller EASTMAN was born June 3, 1842 in North Carolina, and passed away at her home on East Fourteenth street, Harper, Kansas, February 3, 1929; age 86 years, 8 months. Her husband, W.H. Eastman preceded her in death August 23, 1922. "Grandma," as she was familiarly known has resided in Kansas for the past 43 years, first residing in Meade county, later coming to Harper county where she has made her home for the past 32 years, with the exception of two years spent with a daughter, in Missouri. She had been a member of the Church of Christ for many years and although she was practically an invalid for a number of years, she was always at the services whenever possible. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, George MILLS, on East 13th street, Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., Rev. L. A. Utley, officiating. The remains were laid to rest beside her husband in the Harper cemetery. She leaves to mourn her passing, five children, namely: Geo.
