GILL, a former Harper county resident, were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2:30. A large concourse of the deceased's former neighbors and friends were present to pay their last respects to one who was held high in their esteem for acts and kindly deeds tendered by the deceased during his active life. Interment was in the Harper cemetery, where the local Masonic lodge had charge of the services at the grave. Mr. Gill died at his home in Colorado Springs, Colo., Wednesday, July 1, 1931. He had been practically an invalid for a number of years, and his death was not altogether unexpected. Richard Young Gill, born in Cleveland, Ohio, Nov. 11, 1955, passed away at Colorado Springs, Colo., July 1, 1931. He was left an orphan at the age of five years. He was preceeded in death by four brothers and one sister. He lived with various relatives until 19 years old when he went to Nevada. He spent five years, then came to Kansas and homesteaded in Harper County. In January, 1882 he was married to Dora E. SHAVER. He is survived by his wife, five children and three grandchildren. His children are: Guy, Dodge City, Kans.; Scott and Ed, Harper; Maude, Denver, and William, Colorado Springs, Colo. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity and Modern Woodmen of America.
