MAIDEN, born Rockingham County, W. Virginia, February 26, 1832. Died in Dewey Co., Okla., June 2nd, 1919. She was married to Charles POTTER on January 13th, 1865 in Henry County, Iowa. She with her husband moved to Harper County in the days of the early settlers and lived on what is known as the Joe PINSON farm in the Star Center neighborhood. Seven children were born to this uniion, six of whom survive her. They are O.A. Potter of Stillwater, Okla., W.H. Potter of Harper, Kans., Chas E., V.G. and C.E. Potter of Springfield, Oregon. She with her husband and children resided in Harper County for nearly twenty years, and from here moved to Dewey Co., Okla. The funeral services was held from the M.E. church with Rev. Von Schriltz officiating. She had long been a member of the Methodist church.
