At the age of 10 he came with his parents to Harper where he has since resided. April 20, 1919, he was married to Miss Erma BERKEY and he departed after a severe illness lasting for about a month. About three years ago, he lost his right limb, but in spite of this handicap his ambition and courage and desire to do for himself kept him up. Last winter he had the Flu which laid the foundation for his last illness settling in his lungs, however he did not give up until compelled to by force of circumstances. He was well known in this city for unfailing courage and happy disposition. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon and continued at the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church. C. HEIFF from Newton conducted both services and was assisted by J.T. HAMILTON. All that was mortal was then laid to rest in the Mennonite Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Mrs. Erma Neuhauser, his father and mother, five sisters, Mrs. HESS of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. R.M. WEAVER, Mrs. Claude AYLER, Mabelle and Dora who are at home, and four brothers, S.E. and A.D. of Newton, Joe of Peabody and Jesse of Great Bend. All the brothers and sisters were present at the funeral but Mrs. Hess of Phoenix. Other out of town relatives here for the funeral were S.B. KING and family, B.J. KING and family of Hesston, Amos KING and family of Larned, brothers of Mrs. Neuhauser and uncles of the deceased, Mrs. E.KING from Hutchinson, an aunt, D.H. KING of Larned, a grandfather and Val FORNEY and family from Abbeyville. A large concourse of friends were present at both home and church to pay their last respects to one who had won their sympathy and regard for his trustworthiness, ambition and courage. This is the first break in the family circle and we as the Advocate force and the community as large extend to them our heartfelt sympathy, we can do no more. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/harper/obits/n/neuhause1399gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 2.6 Kb
