Riggle Passed Away. The sudden death of H. RIGGLE last Thursday afternoon came as shock to the many friends of the family. Mr. Riggle had been suffering from leakage of the heart and other complications for some time, but his condition was not generally known to be so serious. He was able to be up Thursday, and seemed to be suffering no discomfort other than a drowsiness of which he spoke to his daughter, Miss Eldearia Riggle, when she was home at noon. Later in the afternoon Mrs. Rigle assisted him to bed, where he fell asleep and failed to waken. The sympathy of friends goes out to the grief stricken family, the members of which were very devoted and who are feeling keenly the loss of the husband and father. Hiram Riggle was born August. 6, 1849, near Chambersburg, Lancaster county, Penn. In early life he came with his parents to Lewisville, Ind., where he grew to manhood and where he met Elizbeth Elmira FLETCHER, who became his wife in 1878. Soon after his marriage he came with his wife to Kansas and settled at Harper, but moved westward with the pioneers to Stevens county in 1893. He came to Liberal and established his home at the present location, where he has lived for about 35 years. During his ling residence in Liberal he never moved from the block in which his home was located at the time of his death.
